On March 25 at Miami’s
Winter Music Conference, Jennifer Shapiro
was the randomly chosen winner of “The Great DJ Times/Mackie
Giveaway." The 25-year-old drum-and-bass spinner from Boca
Raton, Fla., took home prizes worth more than $2,500. Her winnings
included:
• 2 Mackie SRM350 2-way active loudspeakers
• 1 Mackie Onyx 1220 analog studio mixing desk
• 1 Mackie Onyx FireWire card
• 1 two-year subscription to DJ Times
• 2 Full Expo Passes to the International DJ Expo, set
for August 15-18 in Atlantic City, N.J.
As to be expected, Miss Shapiro was thrilled. “From the
moment I found out that I won, I immediately started checking
out all the Mackie gear—from the Onyx mixer to the SRM
speakers,” says Shapiro, a big Roni Size fan. “I
can't wait to set it all up to my decks and PC, and begin working
on another drum-and-bass project. Thanks Mackie and
