American DJ’s XP-3 is a DMX-compatible fixture with a fully
rotating head, designed to give you a 3D-like light show. The
effect features pan and tilt, 17 gobos plus spot, six colors
plus white and four multi-colors, and strobing in every color.
You can also cast patterns that look like they’re hanging above
clubgoers. There are four DMX channels with extra performance
features like smooth stepper motors or digital displays. The
stepper motors have 1.8-degree rotation designed to transition
the effects quickly and smoothly. A full-focusing lens is included.
The XP-3 can work with any standard DMX controller as well as
American DJ’s Utopia/C controller (sold separately) to control
blackout, slow scan and strobe. It can also be operated in sound
activation mode and you can adjust things by using a sensitivity
knob to control the intensity that the effects move to the music’s
beat. The XP-3 comes with a hanging bracket or can stand on
its own rubber feet.

The HQ 15 Dual Channel 15-Band EQ with FDC (Feedback Detection
Circuitry) from ART uses a set of LED indicators that show you
which of the EQ bands has the most energy with the brightest
LED. It doesn’t fully discriminate between bands and it won’t
get “stuck” on one band when there’s no signal. The indicators
can also show you which band corresponds to the feedback frequency,
designed so you can cut gain in that band quickly and kill the
feedback without impacting the sound. FDC also acts as a simple
spectrum viewer that shows you where the “hot” areas are. During
system setup and sound check, you can use the FDC to help identify
room and sound system resonances. The HQ 15 also features constant
Q circuitry, 45mm center detent sliders with selectable boost
or cut range of 6dB or 12dB, balanced XLR, ¼-inch and unbalanced
RCA input and output connections. It’s got fully adjustable
high pass and low pass filters, analog level metering, variable
input controls, signal clip level indicators, ground lift switch,
internal power supply and selectable line voltage. It also features
a relay type bypass – so if there’s a sudden power loss, the
signal will still be passed. The all-steel chassis takes up
2U rack spaces and can be installed into standard 19-inch equipment
racks.

mode. A sensitivity knob lets you control how intensely the
beams respond to the music. The Super Jewel is like ADJ’s Jewel,
but is designed with sharper optics, colors and has a bigger
beam spread. It has a 120V, 300-watt lamp and also has an FX
switch. Other features include an EZ-Access lamp replacement
door and a hanging bracket.

M-Audio, a division of Midiman Inc., brings to you the Delta
410 audio interface. The Delta series are fully expandable,
universally compatible PCI-based analog and digital audio cards
for Macintosh and PC platforms. Functioning as a 4-input, 10-output
digital recording/playback interface, the Delta 410 has two
analog inputs and eight analog outputs plus coaxial S/PDIF I/O
so you get unbalanced analog and digital I/O – all up to 24-bit
data width and any sampling rate from 8kHz to 96kHz. The eight
analog outputs accommodate 5.1 to 7.1 surround applications,
while the S/PDIF output allows AC3 or DTS to be streamed to
an external decoder, making the Delta 410 fit into a computer-based
home theater companion. The Delta has a frequency response:
22-22kHz, -0.2, -0.4dB @48kHz; 22-40kHz, -0.2,-0.7dB @96kHz
and a hardware sample-accurate sync lets you link of multiple
Delta units.

The XLS amplifier series from Crown includes the XLS 202, 402
and 602. The amps include a selectable high-pass filter (30Hz/15Hz/Off)
on each channel that is designed so that the amp works more
efficiently when not being used with full-range cabinets or
subwoofers, and a pair of optocoupler clip limiters helps protect
loudspeakers from being overdriven. Housed in an all-steel 3U
chassis, the three XLS models use a forced air fan to prevent
heat from building up. Front panels sport dual precision detented
level controls, a power switch and four LEDs that indicate clip
for each channel, power and fault conditions. Rear panel connections
include two electronically balanced XLR inputs and touch-proof
binding post outputs. The XLS series is backed by Crown’s three-year,
no fault warranty.

Blue Sky International’s Sky System One is its first system
in a new line of near-field powered monitors. It’s a 2.1 system
made up of two Blue Sky SAT 6.5 bi-amped Satellite speakers
and a complementary powered Sub 12 subwoofer. The system uses
Blue Sky’s computer-optimized crossover and bass management
network with an on- and off-axis frequency response. The system’s
heart is made up of a pair of SAT 6.5 bi-amped Satellite speakers.
Each speaker has a cast aluminum frame, a 6.5-inch hemispherical
driver and a 1-inch dual concentric diaphragm tweeter with integral
wave guide with an off-axis response. Powered by two custom-designed
100-watt amplifiers with an optimized electronic crossover,
the SAT gives you a reproduction frequency response of 80Hz
to 20kHz +\-3.0 dB (200 Hz to 10 kHz +\-1.5 dB). On the rear
panel there’s a power switch, gain control with an LED power
indicator and a balanced XLR-type input for to interfacing the
SAT 6.5 to consoles and digital workstations. The system’s Sub
12 is designed to complement the speakers. With a cast aluminum
frame and 12-inch forward-firing driver with 2-inch voice coil,
the Sub 12 has a dedicated 200-watt amplifier with a frequency
response of 30Hz to 200Hz +\-3dB and a typical response of 20Hz
to 200Hz. It has a built-in bass management system with a 4-inch
order, 80Hz Linkwitz-Riley low-pass filter and 2nd order 80Hz
high pass filter for the satellite. The rear panel functions
include right/left in and out, sub in and out (so you can connect
multiple subwoofers), mute and phrase switches, sub gain and
power LED, power switch and Slo-Blo fuse.

New from the folks at American Audio is the Power Drive 2.2
turntable. Designed with a high torque platter motor-with forward
and reverse platter direction-the turntable features three RPM
speeds, tone arm height adjustment and automatic quartz lock
of 0-percent speed position. The turntable is designed to work
with American Audio’s DigiPro CD scratching system. The DigiPro
system combines a turntable with a CD player so you use the
vinyl record to “scratch” the CD. You can control the torque
speed by pushing the unit’s start/stop button. An automatic
quartz lock is designed to give you precise movement by holding
the revolution speed to 0-percent when used in the “on” position.
When it’s off, you can use the pitch adjust button to change
the tone to +\-10-percent or +\-20-percent. Other features include
adjustable feet for leveling, pop-up stylus target light, and
an extra stylus holder.
