American DJ’s XP-3 is a DMX-compatible fixture with a fully rotating head, designed to give you a 3D-like light show. The effect features pan and tilt, 17 gobos plus spot, six colors plus white and four multi-colors, and strobing in every color. You can also cast patterns that look like they’re hanging above clubgoers. There are four DMX channels with extra performance features like smooth stepper motors or digital displays. The stepper motors have 1.8-degree rotation designed to transition the effects quickly and smoothly. A full-focusing lens is included. The XP-3 can work with any standard DMX controller as well as American DJ’s Utopia/C controller (sold separately) to control blackout, slow scan and strobe. It can also be operated in sound activation mode and you can adjust things by using a sensitivity knob to control the intensity that the effects move to the music’s beat. The XP-3 comes with a hanging bracket or can stand on its own rubber feet.

A Higher HQ

Rochester, NY 14608

The HQ 15 Dual Channel 15-Band EQ with FDC (Feedback Detection Circuitry) from ART uses a set of LED indicators that show you which of the EQ bands has the most energy with the brightest LED. It doesn’t fully discriminate between bands and it won’t get “stuck” on one band when there’s no signal. The indicators can also show you which band corresponds to the feedback frequency, designed so you can cut gain in that band quickly and kill the feedback without impacting the sound. FDC also acts as a simple spectrum viewer that shows you where the “hot” areas are. During system setup and sound check, you can use the FDC to help identify room and sound system resonances. The HQ 15 also features constant Q circuitry, 45mm center detent sliders with selectable boost or cut range of 6dB or 12dB, balanced XLR, ¼-inch and unbalanced RCA input and output connections. It’s got fully adjustable high pass and low pass filters, analog level metering, variable input controls, signal clip level indicators, ground lift switch, internal power supply and selectable line voltage. It also features a relay type bypass – so if there’s a sudden power loss, the signal will still be passed. The all-steel chassis takes up 2U rack spaces and can be installed into standard 19-inch equipment racks.
