"Hide
U "
Suzanne Palmer
Star 69
The featured
vocalist on club hits like “Much Better,” “Alright,” and “Muscles,”
Palmer once again finds herself teaming up with Peter Rauhofer
to cover Kosheen’s “Hide U,” originally a jungle favorite.
Palmer’s gospel-inflected performance brims with raw emotion
on every note. The “John Creamer and Stephane K Remix” gets
deep and minimal and lets her vocal move the dancefloor. The
“Friburn & Urik Remix” pumps up the track with some harder-edged
drum and synth work, while the “Johnny Vicious Club Mix” offers
even larger synths and great vocal effects – a trance monster.

"Voices"
K.C. Flight Vs. Junction
Hooj Choons
If you’re
not familiar with the house classic “Voices” by K.C. Flight,
here’s your chance to get acquainted. Both Pete Heller and
Tom Middleton work some magic and turn this into a much harder
tribal piece. Heller’s mix uses some crafty trancey elements,
which give it just the right edge, while Middleton really
works with the smooth flowing bassline.

"Play"
Jennifer Lopez
Epic
On
the “Thunderpuss Club Mix,” the hitmaking duo drops an irresistible
downtempo groove that’ll make you turn this track up. Peter
Rauhofer’s mix gets much darker and underground – definitely
an afterhours effort. Also, the “Matt & Vito F*#king Club
Mix” offers the most energy with its Euro-pop-trance feel
and clever ad-libs. Great mixes all around.

"My Feeling"
Junior Jack
Radikal
This
disco-house number features an Alexander O’Neal vocal sample
(“Saturday Love”) and a driving house groove. The vinyl offers
some very cool mixes including Hatiras’ “Liquid Adrenaline
Dub” and “High Voltage Dub.” Both dubs are on the filtered
tip with some high midrange action going on and cool breakdowns.
But we’re feeling the “Solaris Main Vocal Mix,” a lively bouncy
house-capade that has all the elements of major club hit.

"Talk Like Sex, Pt. 2"
Smut
Peddlers feat. Kool G. Rap
Rawkus
This
muscular new hip-hop jam, produced by The Alchemist, features
Kool G. Rap, who goes into flip mode while spittin’ out lyrics
on the subject of sex and other physical matters. And check
the namedropping throughout. The beats are tough, unflinching
and looped to perfection. It’s hardcore and relentless, but
thankfully for some jocks there’s a clean mix. If you’re feeling
dirty these days, check the “Dirty Mix” at your next hip-hop
jam and rock this cut.

"Survivor"
Destiny's Child
Columbia
A
slew of new remixes featuring Victor Calderone and Maurice
Joshua at the helm. Calderone gets progressive on his blistering
“Club Mix,” which features an aggressive percussion intro.
It’s pretty much upfront and pumping throughout, as is “Calderone’s
Drum Dub Mix.” Joshua along with Charlie “Baby” Rosario drop
the more housey “CB200 Club Anthem Mix” with its soulful vibe
and slinky chord hook. There’s also a rough and rugged extended
version that features Da Brat and also the jazzy “Azza’s Soul
Remix.”

"Wish
You Were Here"
John Creamer & Staphane K.
Critikal
Records
Tribal
drums, water-logged keys, and singer Nkemdi’s wine-warmed
murmurs together make this track a summer standout – sexy,
drowsy, but with enough tension to fit into your build-up
or come-down set. The production team of Creamer and K. has
a string of stormy remixes under its belt and on this one
they simply marry all that deep progressive thunder with beach
weather and visions of Ibiza.

"Guiding Light"
Louie
Balo feat. Jeannie Hopper
Liquid
Sound Lounge
We were feeling this one right out the gate.
Producer Louie Balo unleashes a soulful house piece that is
highlighted by Hopper’s sexy spoken-word vocal. Make sure
you check out the “Moon Dust Remix” with its deep tech-house
feel, smoldering bassline and atmospheric keys – an absolute
blast. That mix will definitely be a DJ favorite. There’s
also a perky “Saturn Dub” that has a smooth tribal vibe. No
doubt this cut will be played in deep-house clubs everywhere.

"Jumpin
& Bumpin' "
Kim English
Nervous
Using
a sample from Darude’s popular dancefloor hit “Sandstorm,”
Michael T. Diamond transforms English’s cut into a massive
trance anthem. This is definitely one of the hottest records
of the moment and should not be overlooked.

"It's
Yours "
John Cutler
feat. E-Man
Chez
Music
This
spectacular and dynamic deep-house piece offers a real party-flavored
edge. Brooklyn’s own E-Man provides an inspirational narrative,
while Jillian Rivers sings her heart out. Jon Cutler’s production
includes some fancy keyboard work and melodic horns that flow
flawlessly with the vocals. Deep underground house at its
finest.

"Are
U Capable"
Olivia
J
Records
Olivia’s
first single, “Bizzounce,” was a sexy, sultry debut that turned
a lot of heads. Now she drops the funky follow-up, where she
displays some rapping skills, as well as working that silky
voice. The beats are tough and robust and the vocal arrangements
are excellent.

"Les
Enfants Du Bled"
Africanism pres. Soha
Africanism
Produced
by DJ Gregory and Julian Jabre, this one’sp a tribal monster. They
really work heavy drums with a wicked break for an unforgettable
dancefloor worker. There are also some cool stripped-down
drumbeats and an a cappella to work with here.

"Baby
Put My Mind At Ease"
Automagic
Captivating
Make
sure you go straight to Tedd Patterson’s “Yo Yo Dub,” a deep
delicious, filtered house groove with some very soulful elements
and flava. It’s a little on the repetitious side, but the
groove is so catchy that your crowd won’t mind. The “Automagic
Main Pass” mix is cool, too, with an ’80s-style funk groove
to it and soulful female vocal lead. It’s definitely workin’!

"Everyday"
Central Living
Naked
Living
This
label is unstoppable. The quality of their music speaks for
itself and the latest installment features vocals by the talented
Lisa Shaw. The “Naked Penis Remix,” composed by James Baron
& Chris Todd, is a beautiful deep-house vocal piece with some
elegant keys and a sexy bassline. A classy early evening record
that’s sure to get attention.
