Spectrasonics has introduced the Groove Control Virtual Instrument,
called Stylus-Vinyl Groove Module.
Stylus is a software plug-in instrument that integrates a library
of thousands of groove elements, loops and samples, with a powerful
user interface for creating original grooves. Stylus can be
used as a native plug-in instrument in hosts like Logic, Digital
Performer, Cubase VST, Nuendo and Pro-Tools.
The nearly 3 gigabyte library of Stylus features a wide range
of groove elements that cover a wide variety of remix genres
including R&B, 2-step, Trip-Hop, Chemical, Epic House, Underground
Hip-Hop, UK Garage, Downtempo Dub, Nu-skool, Acid Jazz, Trance,
Funk, Alternative, Progressive, Slo-Jamz, Drum-n-Bass, and many
others.
Original grooves can be created from scratch with instant access
to thousands of edgy drum samples. In addition, the Groove Menus
let you remix loops in real-time at every tempo from 50-180
BPM in both straight and swing feels. It’s as simple as
selecting a patch at the desired tempo and playing a connected
keyboard – the loop tuning calculations are handled automatically
inside the plug-in.
Over 1,000 turntablist FX and DJ trick samples are included,
as well as a section of hi-fi, live percussion loops-including
congas, bongos, djembes, shakers, triangles, agogos and tambourines,
all of which can be mixed into any groove separately. Every
loop on Stylus is presented in Spectrasonics Groove Control
activated versions-which provides independent control over the
groove’s pitch, tempo, feel and pattern without using
any DSP. Since every groove can be mixed and matched at any
tempo or feel, there are endless combination possibilities.
Stylus features include real-time groove jamming at any tempo
with Groove Menus, easy to use, built-in patch management system,
sample-accurate timing, total recall with sequence, and multi-mode
resonant Filters for each sample, plus Master Filters.

The MVP35 and MVP36 loudspeakers are the newest additions to
the Community line. Com- munity’s MVP35 speaker is capable
of delivering even, 90- x 40-degree coverage between 65 Hz and
16 kHz with a maximum output of 118 dB SPL at one meter. On
the other hand, the MVP36 has a frequency response of 60 Hz
- 17 kHz, sensitivity of 97 dB SPL (1W/1M), and power handling
rated at 200 watts RMS, 500 watts program.
Utilizing a single 15-inch low frequency driver and Community’s
LM20 non-metallic, Ferro-fluid cooled high-frequency transducer,
the MVP35 posts power handling figures of 200W RMS, 500W program.
With high sensitivity (95 dB SPL at 1W/1m) and a nominal impedance
of eight ohms, the enclosure is safeguarded by Com- munity’s
new Thermal-Link Driver Protection System. The protective network
insures that the MVP35 can remain running at maximum output,
without the risk of loudspeaker damage, by automatically monitoring
and adjusting high frequency performance. The MVP35 is constructed
using internally braced MDF board covered with durable black
carpeting. A built-in, die-cast zinc stand socket comes standard
with the package, as do rubber feet, recessed handles, corner
protectors, a perforated 16-gauge steel grille, and a rear panel
housing ¼-inch connectors. For flown applications, T-nut
mounting points are provided as well.
The MVP36 has a bass-ported design employing a single 15-inch
cast frame low frequency element and a one-piece 90- x 40-degree
fiberglass horn section housing Community’s new proprietary
LM20 compression driver. Outfitted with a non-metallic diaphragm
to increase internal damping, reduce ringing, and provide more
accurate response as well as extremely low distortion, this
low-mass transducer is Ferro-fluid cooled to dissipate heat
quickly. Externally, corner protectors, recessed steel handles,
rigging points, rubber feet, a 16-gauge steel grille, and a
stand socket are all found on each MVP36 enclosure.

New Jem Heavy Fog Glaciator, a low power-consuming fog machine
is for theater, touring and large clubs. A sea of ground-hugging
fog is a desirable theatrical effect. Replacing the larger,
more costly, three-phase heavy fog machines, the Glaciator needs
a 13-amp power supply and a bottle of heavy fog fluid. Unlike
other machines on the market, the Glaciator does not require
CO2 cylinders and separate fog machines to complete the package.
The Glaciator is a self contained, “plug-in and go”
low fog generating system. Its lower cost means that multi-machine
use is a more realistic consideration, allowing the user much
better stage coverage. The Glaciator is compatible with all
external DMX sources.
An optional Power Ducting Adapter (PDA) is available that allows
lengths of ducting to be fitted to the front of the machine
for delivering heavy fog to those more awkward locations. The
adapter has a built-in booster fan which helps project the effect
along longer lengths of ducting. Its design makes the Glaciator
an ideal product for the touring market, and because of its
compactness and low power consumption can be used for dancefloor
effects.

Mach’s M Flex Speakers come with comprehensive rigging
and mounting options. All loudspeakers in the M•Flex series
feature digital bi-amplification technology. By choosing a bi-amplification
solution the M•Flex speakers offer frequency response.
And because of the compact physical size of the amplifiers it
is possible to design a powered loudspeaker in a very compact
cabinet, but still with many features such as microphone and
line Input options and switch-mode power supply. Key issues
addressed have been wide dispersion, linear frequency response,
ultimate speech intelligibility and all fitted in a compact,
lightweight and easy to handle cabinet.
A customized 12-inch full range coaxial drive unit has been
designed for the M-Flex 12, which offers speech intelligibility,
wide dispersion and sound pressure. The 12-inch unit features
a strong die-cast chassis and a 3-inch edge wound voice coil.
The 1-inch compression driver features a special Mylar diaphragm
material with linear response up to 19 kHz. The aluminum voice
coil offers clarity and dynamics.
M-Flex 15 offers full-range high SPL sound reproduction, digitally
powered. The 15-inch unit has a lightweight chassis. The 1-inch
compression driver incorporates a lightweight diaphragm and,
with 107 dB sensitivity. But it still has the advantage of a
wide frequency response and runs flat to 19 kHz. It is mounted
behind a 90-x-40 constant directivity horn with coverage control.
For reproduction of frequencies from 150Hz and below, the M-Flex
S is capable of delivering the kick from a bass drum, a hard
low-frequency bassline, and at the same time contributes to
an overall increase in dynamics and sound pressure. The 15-inch
unit features a lightweight chassis. The concept of a lightweight
design in the entire M-Flex series is maintained, and a power
optimized active crossover with hi-output link option will ensure
optimum integration of M-Flex S with the rest of your M-Flex
speakers.
The M-Flex series comes with built in top hat adapters for pole
mounting, aluminum locks for easy design of clusters and arrays
together with built in stacking options. Furthermore, angled
sides allow you to use the M•Flex products as stage monitors.
Protection of the drive unit is ensured through a steel grille
with extruded rubber protection blocks integrated into the cabinet
design.
