Jurassic Two :

If dentists operated on hip-hop time, the nation’s teeth would rot. If bankers did, we’d live our lives in overdraft.
So it was to our great surprise when DJs Cut Chemist and Nu-Mark, the beat crafters for L.A.-based hip-hop crew Jurassic 5, showed up for their DJ Times photo shoot early. Even more remarkably, it was a Sunday morning. Unprecedented, we’re sure.
Not that J5 has carved a name and a following for themselves by playing it typical. Their raps lack that menacing quality that tends to move records off a retailer’s shelf and into consumers’ pockets. In fact, just one listen to J5’s raps about platonic relationships and personal freedom and you might think they don’t know the difference between a drive-by and a drive-through.

The Hookup :

It was like a dream come true.
“Hello,” said the attractive female wedding guest, wearing a revealing
blouse and miniskirt. “Can you play the latest from Eminem?” The DJ
smiled widely as he answered in the affirmative, assuring an instant re-
quest that would soon fill the dancefloor with her and all her friends.
“By the way, here’s my card, complete with my home phone number
and cell,” said the DJ. “And if you’re not doing anything tomorrow, my
friends and I are going out in my boat up on the lake. You’re welcome to come along, and feel free to bring along your friends!”
For some mobile DJs, scenarios like the above occur every weekend; for other mobiles, it’s a situation to avoid like the plague. For DJs who have a significant other at home, for example, playfully flirting with female guests may be part of the show, but should never continue after the last dance. “Not that I haven’t been tempted,” says Atlanta mobile Brian Durio, “but the main way that I avoid the situation is to remember that I’ve been married for almost 15 years.”
But what about single mobile DJs who are still playing the field? Is it ethical for these DJs to meet dates at hired events? Or is there a protocol we should observe as professional entertainers? While researching for this story, we found a range of opinions.
