Get
Organized with Case Logic

If you find yourself spending more time
picking your way around mountains of CDs than playing them,
Case Logic has a solution. Pro-Sleeves are designed to replace
those jewel cases that always wind up cracking. The case is
designed to save you space, and is available as a single-sided
sleeve with a pocket for liner notes or a double-sided sleeve
that lets you store two CDs per sleeve. Both models have a tab
pocket on the top for CD spine labels. You can buy ProSleeves
in bulk quantities, from a 30-pack to a 400 pack, as well as
in 60-capacity travel cases. Maybe someday soon you’ll be able
to see your floor again.

Three Ways
If you’re looking for a small monitor
with high output and wide bandwidth, Westlake Audio wants you
to check out its Lc3w10V monitor speaker system. Using a vertical
three-way design, the speaker gives you electro-mechanical-acoustical
dampening and an integrated passive crossover for single or
bi-amp operation. The Lc3w10V is made up of a 10-inch polypropylene
woofer, a five-inch midrange and a 3/4-inch tweeter, 80-watt
continuous power handling and a sensitivity of 88dB @1M for
2.83V input. With a frequency response of 42Hz-20kHz and an
impedance level of 5 ohms nominal/3 ohms minimum, the speaker’s
monitor uses dual banana, five-way binding posts that gives
you the option to operate bi-wired or bi-amped. All told, the
Lc3w10V measures 24.5- x 12- x 14-inches and weighs 71 pounds.
Westlake covers you with a one-year warranty.

airFX
From Alesis
The world
of science fiction has finally merged with DJ technology with
Alesis’ airFX. The airFX is a device designed to process incoming
audio or generates sound effects in reaction to movement. It
features 50 preset programs that modify any audio signal from
CDs and vinyl to live performance in real time. airFX uses Alesis’
Axyz technology, which is an infrared beam that can be manipulated
in three dimensions, along the X, Y and Z axis. If you use triangulation,
up to five different parameters can be controlled in each preset
program. The unit’s interface uses a single knob that you turn
to select, engage, bypass and release a given effect and an
LCD that shows you the current program. You “play” airFX by
pressing the knob to engage the effect and then move your hand
through an invisible infrared sphere to create sounds or to
change the incoming audio signal. The unit has 50 preset programs
that include effects like panning, flanging, pitch shifting
and resonance filtering. Other digital signal processing effects
include programs like Vinylizer, which is a scratchy vinyl simulator
that simulates turntable scratching. airFX also features sub-harmonic
synthesis that creates low frequency harmonics for very low
bass sounds, vocoding, synthesizer and percussion/effect sounds.
airFX features stereo RCA inputs and outputs, a frequency range
of 20Hz-20kHz, 24-bit converters and comes with a 9-volt DC
external power supply. And you can’t beat the airFX program
names: Haunted Landscape, Gender Bender, Decimator, Sunspot,
Tokyo Phase, Percolator, Overdrive, Psychophase, Ghost Flange,
Phasers on Stun, Pitch Transporter, Snake Bite and Bow Wow.

Electronics Triple C
The
Triple C multi-band, envelope and full-band compressor is a
dedicated three-band insert unit made for studio owners. The
unit’s three compression techniques allow users to spectrally
compress source material in low-, mid- and high-frequency bands.
Envelope compression lets you change the dynamic envelope of
the incoming source by changing Attack and Release gain, while
Full-band simulates from conventional analog compressors so
you get the sound of full-band compression right away. An external
side chain I/O lets you control the unit through an outside
source. The Triple C’s user interface comes with a multi-spectral
LCD display that displays parameters like threshold, ratio,
attack, release with soft limiting, look ahead, spectral balancing,
digital Radiance Generator (DRG), envelope attack gain, release
gain and overall makeup gain. The unit comes with 50 factory
presets that you can apply to various sources like Vocal, Guitar,
Bass and Break Beats and others. One hundred user-preset locations
are also available. In hardware, the Triple C has high-resolution
metering, 24-bit resolution A/D and D/A converters, S/PDIF,
MIDI (automatable) and ¼-inch analog I/Os.
