Chemical Beatdown
Chemical Brothers
Right out the gate, the buzz that accompanied the release of the Chemical Brothers’ 1997 full-length Dig Your Own Hole (Astralwerks) had few precedents. What's Your Source?

Taking Care Of Business!

As a partner at Vogel and Mongelli in Hackensack, N.J., Joe Mongelli concentrates on business and commercial law. Also, under his legal eye are several mobile DJ companies. At last year’s International DJ Expo, Mongelli moderated "Legal Wrangling for Mobiles," a panel that offered an overview on contracts, insurance and lease agreements, among others.
Based on his discussions with attendees at the Expo, Mongelli believes that a large number of DJs are unaware of legal issues that can protect them from liability. "At the DJ Expo I saw an incredible amount of money being spent on equipment," says Mongelli. "Equipment that should be protected from liability and creditors in case there’s a loss situation. And the amount of response I received at the Expo from people who are unincorporated, to me, didn’t make any monetary sense or business sense."
