American DJ Strobe Effects

Never at a loss for new lighting products, American DJ has come up with two new strobe effects, the Cyclo-Tron II and the Mega Strobe/DMX. Weighing 20 pounds, The Cyclo-Tron II is a retro-style strobe that’s designed to give your party a trippy ’60s feel. The strobe has four lenses in four different colors for a total of 32 lenses and rotates 360-degrees. The Cyclo-Tron II’s base and head rotate separately, controlled by a knob. It comes with a mounting plate and a ZB-300, 750-watt lamp with a 50 million flash life. The Mega Strobe/DMX, which, obviously, uses DMX protocol, is a 750-watt beam designed for the largest of clubs, roller rinks and arenas. This smart strobe’s DMX signal lets you change its speed from one to 15 flashes per second using American DJ’s SS-DMX/19C, Show Designer, DMX Operator or Scene Setter. The Mega Strobe has input /output jacks on its back, external 100-percent dimming control and a rear speed control knob. It even comes with a bracket for mounting and, measuring 13-x-11-x-6-inches, the seven-pound strobe is designed to be portable. A ZB-300, 750-watt lamp with a 50-million flash life comes with it.

The Entertainer

Stage Accompany’s E 27 is the latest addition to its Entertainer Series line. A compact, medium-power, full-range loudspeaker, it’s designed to relieve you of the need for additional bass cabinets. Here are the specifics: It has a frequency range of 55 Hz, continuous 400W power, a 4-inch voice coil and is prewired for Dynamic Damping Control (DDC). DDC, says the company, uses a feedback signal to actively compensate for the speaker cable resistance. This is designed to give you tight mid and bass reproduction when you use it with a DDC-equipped amplifier. A bass reflex vent is on the back of the cabinet, for optimized acoustic coupling and to prevent pesky dust spots on the grill. The speaker’s cabinet is a horizontal trapezoidal shape and comes in a bunch of different colors.

Bixonic Distortion

Godlyke, Inc.’s EXP-2001 Bixonic Expandora II is a distortion pedal designed to twist your tone as well as your tongue. The pedal features all of the tones of the original EXP-2000 Expandora but without the internal DIP switches. These switches have been replaced with an external Drive knob so you can do precise on-the-fly tweaks without opening the back of the pedal. Also, this version of the Expandora has an increased frequency response, designed to make it sound better without sacrificing the transparency and dynamic responsiveness. Other features include true bypass switching, Front panel Drive, Gain, Tone and Level controls, LED effect status/input level indicators and a nine-volt or AC Adapter power. The Expandora II sits nicely in a retro-style round chassis.

American Audio's ProDJ3

The ProDJ3 from American Audio is a single CD player designed after the DCD-PRO500 Dual CD Player, for DJs who like the dual CD player’s features but a single CD player’s function. The ProDJ3 can recall and store up to 40 pre-created samples and can recall loops and cue points. It has six flash start buttons, so you can create, store and recall samples (up to 2.6 seconds) on-the-fly. ADJ's Rainbow 250

American DJ targets clubs and bars with its latest lighting product, the Rainbow 250. This unit is a two-channel, DMX compatible dimmable color changer featuring seven dichroic colors, including white. Designed for greater accuracy, its lighting and brightness are divided between two channels, so that lighting is controlled by the unit’s first channel while the second channel controls brightness. The Rainbow 250 can be used with any DMX controller, sold separately, like ADJ’s Show Designer. It also features Master/Slave XLR linkability, so that it can be hooked up with other units and can expand its light show to fit any size venue. A sound-active lighting fixture, the Rainbow 250 can also be used as a stand-alone color changer without a controller. It has built-in chase programs for those of you who don’t want to program your own lighting programs. Weighing 16 pounds, the Rainbow 250 is covered by a one-year limited warranty and comes with a 24-volt, 250-watt lamp with a 300-hour lamp life. It’s fan-cooled and comes with a hanging bracket designed for easy mounting.
