Galaxy Audio’s Far Outlet model 300S is a portable source of sinusoidal 115 volt, 60Hz household current. About the size of a lunchbox and lightweight enough to carry in one hand, the FO 300S is suited for powering sensitive audio and video equipment without the need for special filtering or processing instruments. Used as an automatic high-speed charger, multiple 12-volt batteries can be charged simultaneously. When traveling to other countries, the Far Outlet may be recharged without the use of a converter as its charging circuit accepts a wide range of AC input voltages (85 – 265 V AC, 50 – 60 Hz), while its output remains at 115 V AC, 60 Hz. The Far Outlet can also be used as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for equipment with an average usage under 60 watts. The Far Outlet provides up to 300 watts continuous and 400 watts peak power and will operate for hours between charges. It is fully self-contained, has an internal 33Ah battery, a built-in 4-mode battery charger, a dual microprocessor control of all functions, flexible 12-volt I/O port, multi led indicators for all functions, an accessory pouch, is 11.25-inch x 10.75-inch x 8.75-inch (286 mm x 273 mm x 222 mm) and weighs 33.5 pounds (15.2 kg.).

Akai Professional has released five VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plug-ins. The D.C. Vocoder creates “robot” voices and other vocal effects. The 50-band filter divides the input signal into 50 frequency bands for processing individually. The level of each band can be adjusted just like a parametric EQ. An internal 6-voice synthesizer and modulator signal creates vocoder effects, even without a carrier signal, and the Formant function changes female voices to male and vice versa. The Decca Buddy adds multi-part harmonies to your vocals. By adding nine harmony parts to the original vocal, up to 10-voice harmonies can be played: five parts (Original + four transposed Harmonies) x 2 (Dual function). Harmony can be selected using any one of the Preset Scales, User Scales or MIDI. For a more natural character, all voices can be randomized independently. When MIDI Scale is selected, you can control the notes from an external MIDI keyboard or add harmonies via a MIDI Sequencer. The Pitch Right allows you to correct the pitch of vocals or any other instrument in real time. The Rotator plug-in accurately models a rotary speaker cabinet. Using the default settings, this effect generates the standard rotation speed values of the original physical cabinet, which can also be detuned in a range of minus-25- to plus-25-percent. The Quad Comp is a 4-band Compressor/Expander that has mastering as its primary purpose, but it’s also useful for vocals and guitars. Linear phase FIR filters split the signal into four bands with no phase shift or associated distortion.

American DJ’s Saga effect is a sound-activated moonflower with 18 gobo/color combinations. Equipped with an internal rotating mirror dish, the Saga’s colorful moving beams were designed to cover a very wide area. This beam spread makes the Saga ideal for larger venues. The unit includes two FX switches for changing between the sound activation and continuous rotation modes. One switch controls the gobo/color wheel; the other switch controls the rotating mirror dish. This allows for a number of different effects combinations. The gobo patterns can be continuously changing, while the beams’ back-and-forth movement is keyed to the beat of the music, or vice versa. Other options are to have both effects (gobo changes and movement) in the sound activation mode, or both in continuous rotation. The Saga has been designed to be easy to use and transport. It includes a hanging bracket for mounting, and an easy-access lamp replacement door.

American Audio’s Q-D5 DJ SKILZ Signature Series Mixer is a two-channel DJ battle mixer that features an optical crossfader. Its optical sensors control the position of the fader, allowing the Q-D5’s fader to move rapidly. An optical crossfader has a much longer life than a traditional graphite or conductive plastic fader, because there are no contacts or graphite material to wear out. The two-channel Q-D5 mixer includes two phono, two lines, two auxiliaries and one microphone input. The Q Start feature allows DJs to crossfade to a pre-programmed cue point on a compact disc. There are independent fader curves and a reverse (hamster) button on each of the channel slides, as well as on the crossfader itself. This gives DJs the ability to scratch and crab on the channel slides, in addition to the crossfader. The Q-D5 provides independent gain, treble, mid and bass control for each channel, as well as -30dB rotary kills for treble, mid and bass, and 100-percent kill switches for treble, mid and bass. The DJ mic channel features volume, treble and bass knobs. It also includes a light control output, so that DJs can use the mixer with special effects lighting fixtures to create a sound-activated light show.
