By the time Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton stepped away from the decks at The Mission – completing their second Winter Music Conference DJ set in two nights – a ripple had been sent throughout the dance music industry. The word was out that March night in Miami Beach and the bidding war was on. Basement Jaxx were annointed the act to watch out for in clubland and beyond. Astralwerks took the WMC prize for America and six months later their brilliant album Remedy is the result.
