“Heal My Heart”
Kerri Chandler feat. Treasa Fennie
King Street

What can we say about Kerri Chandler? Someone once called him the unofficial godfather of house and that’s not too far from the truth because he’s certainly one hell of a producer. “Heal My Heart” is all about that sweet garage house sound with a quality vocal performance by newcomer Treasa Fennie. All four mixes are the bomb, but DJs must check out the ultra-cool “Drum Dub.” Moody and filled with plenty of attitude, the “Drum Dub” is an underground gem. Kerri’s in the house!

"Get Your Hands Up"
New People
21st Century
More progressive house grooves compliments of indie 21st Century and producer-on-the-rise Freddie “Edit” Rivera. “Get Your Hands Up” stands up a relentless beat-driven journey that’s hard and steady. Producer Rivera pulls no punches on any of the mixes with original mix being especially pleasing with the little chime hook. The “Party Dub” and “2 a.m. Mix” are also hardcore groovy. Get ready for Freddie!

"Mas Pito" b/w "So Deep"
Mongobonix
Subliminal
“It’s so so deep!” You’ll be hearing that phrase soon enough via this slick new cut by Mongobonix. Produced Harry “Choo Choo” Romero, “So Deep” is filled with plenty of breaks and some nice percussion work. “Mas-Pito” is a deep, filtered dub workout that features a sexy horn solo and a phat bassline. It’s more traditional than “So Deep,” but it nonetheless packs some dancefloor intensity.

Inner Directions EP
Dimensions of Depth
Fiji
House music all night long! Indie Fiji Records guides us through this sweet new EP that goes from phat bass-induced grooves to light, airy vocal snippets. All four tracks have great DJ-friendly intros and outros and will be great for mixing at about 126 BPM. Side A is the pick here just for its sheer house flava. But work all the mixes – you won’t be disappointed.

"This Is It"
Celeda
Twisted

This tour-de-force of a house album features three anthems most club jocks already know – the Danny Tenaglia-produced “Music is the Answer” and “Be Yourself,” plus The Heavy Hitters’ “Messin’ With My Mind” – but there’s more quality house here that should fuel plenty of dancefloors through the fall and winter. The E-Smoove-produced “Burnin’ Up” and “Beat Me Down,” Cevin Fisher’s “Try Again,” and Peter Rauhofer’s “Let the Music Use You Up” all create sparks. Also, Celeda’s throaty, gospel-inflected vocals continually seize the moment. Lovers of strong “female” vocal club records will go nuts because This Is It unleashes one of clubland’s great new talents in Celeda.

"Welcome To The Magic Sessions #9"
Tedd Patterson
Stricktly Rhythm
DJ/producer Tedd Patterson gets down and dirty on this sweet garage house track that pays homage to those WMC DJ sets that feature Tony Humphries, Louie Vega, and Mr. Patterson himself. But this cut is all about Tedd with a deep, juicy bassline under some vicious drum patterns that will wreak havoc on the dancefloor. Harry “Choo Choo” Romero contributes two “Deep In Jersey” mixes that have that bouncy smooth house feel. It’s workin’ baby.

"Bailando"
Angelina
Upstairs
It’s been a while since her last release, but the Queen of West Coast Dance has returned to the scene with a powerful party pumper full of Bay Area fun and piled with plenty of Big Apple bravado. As with many of her previous hits, Angelina does what she does best by immediately drawing us into the song’s wonderful melody with her trademark Spanglish lyrics and sweet vocal stylings. A highly addictive Euro-styled synth score, Hi-NRG-flavored beats and spicy rhythms round out a Latin dancefloor winner. Recommended with a bullet. For more information, contact (408) 501-7890.

"25th Anniversary Collection"
KC and the Sunshine Band
Rhino

Retro-leaning and mobile jocks take notice. American disco’s greatest band comes back to life in this extraordinary collection of some of the best club tracks ever made. With cuts like “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s The Way I Like It,” “Keep It Comin’ Love,” and many more, this double-CD will go a long way in solidifying your retro collection.

"My Love Is Your Love"
Whitney Houston
Arista

And the remixes just keep on comin’. Arista unleashes the third track from Ms. Houston’s album and it’s chock full of devastating mixes by Jonathan Peters and Thunderpuss 2000. Peters drops three slammin’ mixes including the epic 13:45 vocal mix that’s a monstrous progressive workout. Thunderpuss also kicks three mixes including a scintillating club mix that features a “break for love” rhythm sample. All the mixes are high-powered and they should rule the dancefloors this fall.

"Give It To Me"
Drama Kidz
Jellybean

A pumpin’ hard-house record brought to us by up-and-coming producers Danny Sullivan and Kemist (aka Eric Holterhoff). With solid drum programing, incredible reverberating keys and intense echo effects on the vocal, “Give It To Me” will give tougher leaning jocks a platter worth working. Look out for more in the future. For info, call (212) 777-5678.

"Move On"
Vicki Sue Robinson
Groovilicious

Remember “Turn the Beat Around”? Well, Ms. Robinson is back with a monstrous anthem produced by Joe Carrion of Welcome Productions. “Move On” has all the elements of a hit – powerful female vocal, very funky tribal kicks and an unforgettable breakdown that introduces some beautiful violins. A great comeback record.

"Compilation Of The Month"
Hard Tasty Beats
Jackie Christie
Nervous

New York-based jock and former DJ Times covergirl Jackie Christie drops a blistering continuous mixed CD that is definitely off the hook. Effortlessly blending together tracks like Kim English’s “Unspeakable Joy,” Orang’E’s “The Musik,” Charlotte’s “Skin” and a host of other delicious Nervous gems, Christie shows she’s definitely got the skills. No wonder she is one of New York’s most sought-after jocks. Hard Tasty Beats is one wicked collection that should not be missed.

"BlaxxTraxx"
Mr. Spring
Tommy Boy Silver

This wicked new high-energy track offers a bit of soul to its beat frenzy. With a funky guitar lick, some furious siren like keys, a cleverly placed horn and a cool blues-type vocal scat, “Blaxxtraxx” is a hot sleeper. For info call (212) 388-3800.

"Rhythm Is My Bitch"
Kevin Aviance
Wave Music

New York’s own super-drag diva Kevin Aviance (“Cunty” and “Din Da Da”) drops another head-turning hard-house anthem. Check the Victor Calderone mixes, which combine Aviance’s unique and aggressive vocal and a funky house flare.

"WER*SHIP"
DJ Escape
Nervous Records

A fantastic female vocal record with mixes by DJ Escape and Twilo guru Junior Vasquez. DJ Escape’s own mix has a nice New York-hard house flare. On the well-produced Vasquez mix, Junior drops a hip-hop break in the middle and brilliantly transforms back into a house groove. “WER*SHIP is a peak-hour record that every hard-house jock should check out.
