JBL's Got the Power
With the EON G2 system, JBL Professional has released the second generation of its EON Series of powered loudspeakers. Club jocks can use the new EON as a booth monitor, while mobiles can employ it as an all-in-one package. According to the company, the series’ flagship, the EON15 G2, delivers 300 watts of power to a 15-inch “Neodymium Differential Drive” low-frequency driver. The unit’s high-frequency amplifier delivers 100 watts of power to a 1.75-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver with ferro-fluid cooling. Designed to eliminate the need for internal or external cooling fans, the unit includes JBL’s “ThermoMaster Total Thermal Management System.” The EON15 G2 also includes a built-in three-input mixer with one balanced mic/line input, two ¼-inch phone line-level inputs and a two-band EQ. A new “Mix Out” feature allows the mixed output to be sent to an external mixing console.

TC Works Spark Modular
The Spark Modulator from TC Works is a modular virtual analog synthesizer. It can be integrated into TC Works digital audio editor Spark!, or as a stand-alone VST instrument in any Macintosh application. The Spark Modulator includes a VST instrument version of Spark’s Fxmachine, letting you use it directly in Cubase, Logic or any other VST-supporting sequencer. The Fxmachine includes a TC-O oscillator, TC-F filter and TC-A amplifier modules, designed to let you design a synth. ETA Amps Its Power
ETA Systems’ two new power distribution units, UL Standard 1419 and ETL listed, have a 120 and 140 amperage capacity. The PD620 Series is a 120-amp capacity unit that has six installed 20-amp circuits that each have a dual U-grounded Edison, NEMA 5-20R outlet receptacle and a 5-buss terminal block for field wiring with up to 2-gauge wire. It comes with a Factory Value Added package with a six-foot long pigtail with 5 8-gauge wires and a 90-degree elbow or straight pass thru conduit connector. The PD66 Series is a 140-amp capacity that’s designed to carry two 30-amp circuits. It has four 20-amp circuits that feature six dual U-grounded Edison, NEMA 5-20R outlet receptacles and a 5-buss terminal block ready for field wiring with wire up to 2-gauges. Electrical power for the two units is available from two or three legs of 120/208 volt, three phase power or 120/240 volt single phase power. Magnetic, heavy-duty 20- and 30-amp Square D breakers provide protection to each of the six individual circuits. The PDM620 and PDM66 are both rack-mountable at the standard 19-inch width and are two spaces high. They’re made of 16-gauge steel and have a black finish. Gemini UMX-5 Mixer

Part of its UMX Series, Gemini’s UMX-5 mixer features Pro-Glide crossfaders and a voice-controlled amplifier, or VCA. Audio is processed through the VCA, which removes the audio from the crossfaders and channel slides. This cuts down on the signal’s travelling time while letting you make precise curve adjustments for the crossfader and channel slides, no audio sacrificed. Gemini's High-Torque Turntable

The high-torque, direct drive, quartz-lock PT-2400 turntable replaces the earlier PT-2000 II from Gemini. The new PT-2400 features a large LCD display that shows you the speed, pitch and platter direction. SurgeX Protects

The SX2120-SEQ from SurgeX is a surge protector and power conditioner that can sequentially power up and down 14 pieces of audio, video, broadcast and computer equipment in separate groups. It comes in a 2U metal chassis and features 14 grounded AC receptacles divided into three banks of four 120V outlets. Two receptacles of the unit are always on. On the rear of the unit is a Phoenix terminal block connector that can be remote controlled through momentary switches, latching switches or applied voltage (5-30 VDC). These remote control inputs and outputs are protected against short-circuits, overloads and reversed polarity. The SX2120-SEQ has a single, isolated relay contact that can be used to confirm or control other SurgeX units and a programmable 12 VDC output provides 40 mA for other uses, like driving LEDs. The conditioner’s front panel has a backlit three-line LCD display so you’re able to see its operating and AC line voltage status even in the darkest clubs. Two small screwdriver holes, marked “SEL” and “ADJ,” let you make set-up adjustments.
