Old school influenced vocals have been the order of the day so far in 2016 and one of it’s finest examples is Sonny Fodera & Mat.Joe’s remix of Gershon Jackson’s ‘Take it Easy’ on Strictly Rhythm. Rough and rugged, yet with a smooth, soulful edge.

Low Steppa’s Simma Black imprint is home to some of the scene’s most rugged house music workouts and Full Intention’s remix of Soul Asylum’s ‘Who Do You Love’, fits their bass heavy blueprint with consummate ease.

6. Dense & Pika – Colt (George FitzGerald Remix) Hotflush Recordings
George FitzGerald’s sublimely hypnotic remix of Dense & Pika’s ‘Colt’ has been causing mayhem on the world’s dancefloors, with it’s sumptuous piano stabs and throbbing backing track. Released on Scuba’s Hotflush imprint, the Berlin-based Brit has already set the deep house bar high for 2016.

7. Sandy Rivera – Long Time Coming (Main Mix) deepvisionz
Sandy Rivera’s name has long been synonymous with superbly crafted disco sampling and “Long Time Coming,” on his very own deepvisionz label, hits all the right spots with its old-school soul vocal and chugging club backing track.

8. Klaves – Say It (Original Mix) Lets Play House
Polish-born Klaves may be only 22, but his proper understanding of the Garage sound and sensibilities purvey the confidence of a man with decades of dance music experience. A real standout moment from an artist we expect to see big things from in 2016.

9. Gene Farris – Time (Original Mix) Cajual
Bringing some seriously disco influenced soulful vibes to the floor in 2016 is Gene Farris’ ‘Time’ on legendary Chicago imprint Cajual. This could have come straight from the floor of Studio 54, until the track finds its jack! Not to be missed.

10. S-Man, Mr. V – 6 AM (Dario D’Attis Remix) Undr The Radar
With Roger Sanchez and Mr V at the controls and Dario D’Attis on remix duties, this really couldn’t miss! Deliciously dark and hypnotic, expect to hear this booming from the speakers at the finest after- hours basement sessions across the globe.
