This weekend Spring Awakening Music Festival (SAMF) will be invading its new home at the Northwest Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates bringing only the latest and greatest from the world of dance music to the Chicagoland area for what is sure to be another unforgettable weekend.

While there is indeed no shortage of talent showcasing their skills across seven stages during this three-day electronic extravaganza, I’ve decided to put together a “must-see” list to help assist you put together the perfect soundtrack to your weekend.

Featuring both the scene’s heaviest-hitters and promising up-and-comers, these artists are sure to leave a lasting impression on Spring Awakening 2019!

Excision (Detox Set)

When the Spring Awakening lineup was released, there was one name on the lineup that was blurred out which was later be revealed as a very special Excision Detox Set which is pretty much guaranteed to be one of the most talked about sets of the weekend. Dom Dolla

Quickly become one of the hottest names in the game, Dom Dolla is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most in-demand electronic artists. Popping up on what seems like every festival lineup under the sun, this house maestro shows no signs of slowing down with his most recent single “Take It” racking up over 7 million plays.


After making his debut on the HOWSLA EP catching the attention of Chris Lake and Skrillex, Noizu has solidified as one of house music’s brightest stars who is going to dominate the festival circuit this summer. Not only playing some of the biggest festivals across the globe, but his tracks are sure to get a boatload of spins. Serving beats both groovy and infectious, the Noizu story has just begun.

Two Friends

No one knows how to turn a festival into a party quite like Two Friends. These lifelong buddies not only have a new single “Bandaid” which is currently lighting up the airwaves but their colorful catalog of remixes and originals are primed for a festival atmosphere.

If you’re looking for your daily dose of bass, the dynamic duo Flosstradamus and 4B are sure to flip Equinox Stage upside down and inside out. With no genre being off limits with these two behind the decks, the crowd is going to be for quite the wild ride.

It wouldn’t be a proper electronic music festival without the global ambassador of Chicago’s classic house music sound, Gene Farris. With the set that is going to be fueled by Acid House, Disco and the classic Chicago style of his peers, Spring Awakening festival goers are in for quite the history lesson.


With the bass scene currently thriving, it’s had to ignore one of the hottest names in the game, PEEKABOO. Making a name for himself with his relentless, bone-rattling beats, the one who hails from Detroit is poised to be one of the true driving forces in the world of bass music.

Chris Lake

Being one who has been on quite the tear as of late when it comes to the release of club-ready weapons, Chris Lake has been one who puts a strong emphasis on the world dance when it comes to electronic dance music. With his Black Book Records currently thriving and him easily being considered one of the hottest names in house, this is one set you don’t want to miss.
