(For those who don’t know, the on-deck circle is a baseball term that refers to being next in line to bat.)
One name that continues to make waves hails from Salt Lake City, Utah and goes by the name of SHSTR. Using 2019 as a coming-out party with a bevy of releases including his Destroy The Creator EP, his project has evolved into a true audio-visual experience that take-off next year. If you enjoy menacing soundscapes and booming bass, SHSTR is one name you need to keep a close eye on.
With only a sample size of releases to work with, the reign of Xie has truly just begun with the lead single “Jungle Juice,” off her forthcoming debut EP giving listeners a taste of what’s to come. (Literally!) Keeping us on her toes with her unique hybrid style, no genre is truly off-limits, and the same goes for the sets, whether in a club setting or festival grounds.
Serving up a couple colossal collaborations with some of electronic music’s elite talents, most recently connecting with Skrillex and Boyz Noize (aka DogBlood) on “4 Mind,” X&G have set the tone for a monsterous 2020. Serving up a forward-thinking style production with each release, these two seem the thrive when it comes to thinking outside the box, and that is what catapults you into the spotlight these days. Looking for a breath of fresh air? Dive into X&G’s discography.
While he may be a fresh face in the electronic dance music scene, BLVK JVCK is no stranger to dominating the airwaves as one of the legendary production members of The Runners. Unleashing a brutal blend of dubstep and hip-hop influences, the budding bass mastermind is poised to becoming a true heavy-hitting throughout the genre, and I mean that quite literally.
Emerging from behind the curtain is one dance music’s most influential behind-the-scenes talents, Naderi. The Australian producer has engineered for the likes of What So Not, Alison Wonderland, and tracks Flume’s Grammy-winning album, Skin. Already starting to release productions under his own name, he looks to become quite the force to be reckoned with throughout 2020 with a boatload of releases.
