Mija has always been one to play by her own rules and do whatever her little creative heart desires when it comes to her artistry with her forthcoming debut album, Desert Trash, set to be a 13-track showcase the continuation of her challenging her personal artistic boundaries.
Switching things up the somber title track of the LP, Mija‘s latest once again features her singing as a focal point of the production alongside soft piano chords before flipping the script inviting us into the blazing realm of liquid drum and bass.
“Happy v day! a couple years ago, my friend Gammer sent me an iphone video of him traveling thru the countryside via train, with the most emotional chord/synth progression I had ever heard playing in the background. I said “Gams, this song is SO important” He graciously sent me his stems, and from there I wrote v1 of what would end up being this single,” Mija explains.
Mija Has Taken Her Genre-less Aesthetic to the Masses
“*Fast-forward one year* I am wrapping my album and decided that I need a professional to help me bring this song to the level it deserves. Logically, I hit up the dopest DnB producer I know, Thys (of Noisia), who also happens to be a genius composer and one of my close friends… and we finished the song together at his studio in Groningen. Written by me & Gammer. Inspired by loneliness, long-distance travel, and friendship, I am so fucking proud to give you ‘Digressions'”
