Los Angeles collective Future Primitive has been smashing through this summer with a host of sold-out events including Guy Gerber’s Rumors, Jamie Jones’ Paradise in the Park, Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream and most recently Acid Pauli and DJ Tennis’s Chinatown Block Party.

Saturday’s event saw Life and Death label boss DJ Tennis spin back-to-back with psychedelic wizard Acid Pauli for an unrelenting open-to-close set that lasted an impressive seven hours. The event marked the one year anniversary of Future Primitive’s inception, which began last summer coincidentally with a DJ Tennis show at the same location alongside Dixon.

DJ Tennis unleashed a plethora of unreleased grooves as per his usual modus operandi, as well as a cinematic cut of his newest EP ‘Gordon Starck.’ Acid Pauli conducted a master class in meditative panache and hypnotic grooves. The seven-hour marathon left onlookers slack-jawed and smiling, basking in the unique nature of the back-to-back bliss and wishing the sonic journey would never end.
