San Diego, Calif. – Before a packed crowd at Omnia San Diego this past Jan. 25, JAUZ was officially crowned America’s Best DJ 2017.

The annual DJ Times-run promotion, which asks music fans to vote for their favorite U.S.-based DJs, culminated with the L.A.-based JAUZ (aka Sam Vogel) accepting the spoils that signify America’s Best DJ – a special plaque and a fully functioning, gold-plated Pioneer DJ DJM-900NSX2 mixer. At 24, Jauz is the youngest jock to take the title.

Now in its 12th year, the America’s Best DJ promotion is supported by a summer-long tour that includes a dozen U.S. dates. Sponsored in 2017 year by Weedmaps, the 2017 America’s Best Summer Tour made stops in Detroit (Movement Electronic Music Festival), Chicago (Spring Awakening Music Festival), Denver (Global Dance Festival) and Baltimore (Moonrise Festival), among other cities. For the ABDJ contest, fans could vote for their favorite DJ at a dedicated booth at one of the tour stops or they could vote online at americasbestdj.us.

For their efforts in making the America’s Best DJ Closing Party/Award Ceremony a success, big thanks are in order for Sol Shafer, Jae Espinoza and the entire Omnia team, Pioneer DJ’s Lars Schlichting and Tomo Kato, and 12inchSkinz’s Jared Porter.

Stay tuned for news on America’s Best DJ 2018.
